Epoxy yellows in sunlight, so floors that see daylight are finished with a UV-stable coat: polyaspartic PA300 and PA330, polyurethane PU100 and Polyglaze NY, or Hycrete PU-TC Solar over polyurethane cement.

FAQs about UV-stable floor coatings

Why does a floor in sunlight need a UV-stable coat?

Epoxy yellows in sunlight. A UV-stable coat keeps the colour: PA300 and PA330 polyaspartics are non-yellowing, and PU100 will not yellow in direct sunlight.

Which clear coat goes over a flake floor outdoors?

PA Glaze 5 or Hyglaze HS: both contain UV blockers, suit interior and exterior use, go over standard flake finishes in a single coat and are recoatable in 4–6 hours.

Is there a UV-stable option over polyurethane cement?

Hycrete PU-TC Solar, a high-build coloured polyurethane coating with improved UV resistance, resistant to organic acids, fats, oils and solvents, with a semi-gloss finish.
