Car park flooring and deck coatings
Car park floors must keep water out of the slab, grip tyres and feet, and stand up to UV on open decks. Specify Deckproof PU-2-SL — certified to AS 4654.1 as a Class III trafficable membrane — for decks over occupied space, and Deck-Seal (WE70 clear or SF25 coloured) or PU100 for basement and ground-level floors.

Standards that apply
| Standard | Title | What it means for the floor |
|---|---|---|
| AS 4654.1-2012 | Waterproofing membranes for external above-ground use — Materials | Classes a membrane by its extensibility (I–III). Deckproof PU-2-SL is certified as Class III for non-exposed external above-ground waterproofing. |
| AS 4654.2-2012 | Waterproofing membranes for external above-ground use — Design and installation | How the membrane is detailed and installed: falls, upturns, terminations and drainage. |
| AS 4586-2013 | Slip resistance classification of new pedestrian surface materials | Classes a new floor: P0–P5 on the wet pendulum, R9–R13 on the oil-wet ramp, A–C for wet barefoot areas. Ask for the class the area needs, not just "non-slip". |
| AS/NZS 2890.1:2004 | Parking facilities — Off-street car parking | Car park layout, ramps and markings. It does not rate coatings; the membrane and slip standards do. |

FAQs about car park flooring and deck coatings
Does a car park need a waterproofing membrane?
Where the deck is over occupied space — shops, offices, apartments — yes: an AS 4654.1 membrane under a wearing course. Basement and on-ground slabs usually need a sealer or coating instead.
What is Class III?
The most extensible class of AS 4654.1 membrane; Deckproof PU-2-SL elongates 305 % at 23 °C, so it bridges cracks that open and close.
Is line marking part of the system?
The finish is ready for line marking. Layout and markings follow AS/NZS 2890.1; ask us about paint compatibility.
