Coolroom and freezer flooring

For coolrooms, freezers and cold stores, specify polyurethane cement. Hychem Hycrete lists cold storage warehouses, coolrooms and freezers among its applications: it takes forklifts, moisture and washdown, and an accelerator lets it cure at low temperatures. Its seal coat, Hycrete TC, is rated from −20 °C to 120 °C.

FAQs about coolroom and freezer flooring

What temperatures can the floor take?

Hycrete TC, the seal coat, is rated from −20 °C to 120 °C. For blast freezers colder than −20 °C, ask us before you specify.

Can it be laid in a cold room?

Hycrete PU-SL is available with a chemical accelerator for fast cure at low temperatures. Polyac MMA can be laid below freezing where a room cannot be warmed.

Why not a standard epoxy?

Cold stores see condensation, washdown and constant forklift traffic on a cold slab. Polyurethane cement is made for that service; standard epoxies cure slowly in the cold.
